At BugRadar ("the App", "we", "our", or "us"), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your data. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the BugRadar mobile application.
1 Data Collection & Authentication
BugRadar does not use a traditional account registration or login system.
Keychain Usage
The App generates and stores an anonymous device-based User ID securely in Apple Keychain. This allows continuity of your experience across app updates or reinstalls without collecting personally identifiable information.
Personal Data
We do not collect directly identifiable personal information such as your name, surname, email address, or phone number.
2 Camera & Photo Library Access
BugRadar requests permission to access your camera and photo library to provide insect identification and image enhancement features.
- Access is limited only to photos you explicitly select.
- The App does not scan or access other photos without your permission.
- Permissions can be revoked anytime from device settings.
3 Image Processing & Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Photos you upload are transmitted to our AI processing infrastructure for entomological analysis and visual enhancement.
Image Enhancement
Your original image may be processed to generate a higher-resolution or improved visual version.
Analysis
Images may be analyzed to provide:
- Species identification
- Scientific name
- Habitat information
- Danger score assessments
- Educational insights
Data Retention & Training
- Uploaded images are not stored or retained on our servers after processing is complete.
- Images are never used for AI model training.
- Image processing is strictly limited to delivering the requested in-app result.
4 Third-Party Services
BugRadar uses trusted third-party infrastructure providers to operate core features. These may include services for:
- AI processing — image analysis and identification
- Subscription management — in-app purchase handling
- Crash reporting & diagnostics — app stability monitoring
These providers process only the minimum technical data required for their function and are governed by their own privacy policies. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

The information provided by BugRadar — including danger scores, species identification, and first aid suggestions — is for general informational purposes only.

- Information may be incomplete or inaccurate.
- In case of an insect bite or sting, always seek professional medical assistance immediately.
6 User Rights & Data Removal
If you uninstall the App and clear Keychain data, your anonymous identifier is no longer associated with the device.

BugRadar does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. The App does not require account registration and does not collect identifiable personal data. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
